  • Visited from out of town. LOVED LOVED LOVED THE YOUTH MASS!

  • While I am no longer a teen, I have to say I love the teen mass here on Sunday evenings. I have found all the priests to have engaging and often funny homilys that are very applicable to today's world. You don't always get this, I have been Catholic all my life and have experienced the whole range. And while I think Sonia (4/20/10 review by Sonia) makes very pertinent points, I have to respectfully disagree that at St. Raphael's this is the case. All the priests I have encountered are wonderful. It's truly refreshing. Maybe she just went on a bad day or it was the old, retired monseigneur whose homilys do sometimes seem lackluster, but I know him personally and he is great, just getting older. He's the same if you talk with him in person. I like St. Raphael's and I would encourage Sonia to give it another try. Also, keep in mind that as Catholics, we go to mass for more than the homily and good music (which I won't underestimate if we want to draw more people and keep the teens coming), but we're first and foremost there for the Eucharist!

I have never written a review on a priest, but I feel I should so you don’t get surprise when you attend mass and hopefully the priests at this church read the review and do something about their attitudes.
The times that I have attended mass at this church the priests are very cold and distant when celebrating mass. It almost seems they are reading or just going thru the mass’ motions, they look like they don’t want to be there, and the homily, if they give one is very short and the priests pretty much describes what the readings say, they don’t expand the message more. They do the least they can and get out there. Most of the time they seem grumpy and unhappy…
We need spiritual, faith passionate, caring, vibrant priest. Please be one.

  • Only went to church because I was traveling thru SB and didn't want to miss Sunday service.....and went to the youth mass at 5:30pm. It was actually very vibrant and fun. Small church, but big energy. Also, it's my namesake saint! Definitely would come back again to support this little parish :)
